Fondazione Pangea Onlus (Pangea Nonprofit Organization) was founded in July 2002 through the determination of a group of people coming from diverse experiences in the service sector, in particular from research in the field of human rights violation. They had the desire to create a lean and efficient structure capable of responding concretely to the needs that arise following emergencies caused by wars, famine, dictatorial regimes or events of climatic catastrophe. Fondazione Pangea Onlus wants to intervene in places where, once the "acute" phase of an emergency is no longer in the spotlight, the needs of the population remain, to restore a sense of "normalcy" and rebuild the social and economic fabric upset by the emergency. Pangea strives to do this with greatest respect for fundamental human rights.
Fondazione Pangea Onlus works in close collaboration with local associations intimately familiar with the real needs of the society in which we operate. Pangea operates in post-emergency situations, and works toward the empowerment of Women. Our aim is to create conditions which foster development and participation of Women and their families. Through education, instruction on human rights, professional training, health education and micro credit, we offer them tools and opportunities for concrete recovery. Every Pangea supporter shares its philosophy of action and promotes first-hand the successful outcome of its projects. At the root of the Fondazione's work is a profound need for social justice, a birthright of every man, woman and child. There is a desire to create a "People's Pangea" where a spirit of collaboration and solidarity, an openness toward others and mutual aid are fundamental values.

A Woman is a multiplier of well-being
in the society in which she lives;
she is the center of a social web of solidarity.
Too often, however, being a Woman
means being a victim of politically unstable situations,
of religious writs and of social prejudice.
Too often being a Woman
means being deprived of your own rights.
For this reason we of the Fondazione Pangea Onlus
want to be in solidarity with Women,
to expose and denounce every
form of violation of their Rights in Countries
experiencing situations rooted in suffering and poverty.
But Pangea is more than DENOUNCEMENT . It is, above all,
ACTION .
Because it is important to help every Woman
build a life full of security and hope for herself
and for the community in which she lives.
Because a Woman can become a multiplier of Peace.
